| Life House

Program Description

Life House is an emergency short-term housing program (6-9 months) for up to six (6) male individuals who are homeless, low income, have qualifying serious mental illness (SMI), face certain felony charges, and have been determined, or could be determined Incompetent to Stand Trial (IST) under the AB 1810 Pre-Trial Felony Mental Health Diversion Program.

Clients are referred to this program through the Behavioral Wellness Justice Alliance program. The goal of Life House is to connect clients to long-term community care to divert them from justice involvement and institutionalization, and to reduce client incarceration.

Clients will be required to provide a urine screen to GSS staff at intake and periodically to promote abstinence and validate sobriety. Recovery Point accepts Santa Barbara County Medi-Cal and self-pay clients.

Program Qualifications

Males over 18 years old who are homeless and have serious mental illness who are facing felony charges.
