| Housing Navigation and Retention Team

Program Description

The Housing Navigation and Retention Team, part of the Good Samaritan Shelter Programs, operates county-wide with a dedicated group of Housing Navigators, Substance Abuse Specialists, and Medical Coordinators. Funded through the CalAIM projects, including Housing Transition and Navigation Services, Housing Deposits, Housing Tenancy and Sustaining Services, and Enhanced Care Management, we collaborate with internal referrals from other Good Samaritan Shelter Programs and external referrals from CenCal.

Our mission is to support clients in securing housing by providing financial assistance for their initial rent and deposit. Beyond housing placement, our focus extends to enhancing client stability through services addressing substance abuse and medical coordination. We actively connect individuals to community resources, fostering a comprehensive approach to their well-being. Working closely with the Coordinated Entry System, we explore additional housing opportunities as appropriate.

Our commitment doesn’t end with housing placement. We continue to engage with participants post-housing, ensuring they meet their goals and sustain their housing.

Program Qualifications
